Please note before posting:
Any racist, anti-Semitic or derogatory discussion, comments or user icons will NOT be tolerated in this community. period. Yes, the Nazi's were a major part of the war, however this is NOT the place to glorify the actions and crimes committed against humanity by the Third Reich.

Please keep that in mind when posting to this community. Thank you.

----

Helpful Guidelines for Posting Photographs:
- Please keep the photographs to a managable viewing size
- Please put multiple photos (3 photos or more) and/or large photographs behind a lj-cut tag (see here for directions)
- When possible, please share the background information the photo and the date it was taken if known.
--------------
DO NOT FLOOD THIS COMMUNITY WITH IMAGES! IF YOU ARE GUILTY OF THIS, YOU WILL BE BANNED!
This seems to be a problem now.
If you have lots of photos to share (that's great!) but please post them together in several group postings under an LJ-CUT tag, or create a photo album using Photobucket.com and share the entire album with the community. There is no need to post 60+ posts of the same subject matter.

NO FLAME WARS OR PHOTO POSTING WARS WILL BE TOLERATED!
---------------

Image Hosting:
For those you in need of a place to host photos, please check out the following places:
Photobucket - A good free and easy to use image hosting website.
pix8.net - Another good free image hosting website.
weblogimages - A hosting source for bLog images.
IMGspot - Image hosting with NO registration required!
Imageshack - yet another FREE image hosting site.

These sites allow hotlinking of photos for use on Livejournal. Please avoid hotlinking photos from the source the photos on the internet. Not only is this not cool, but it sucks the original owner's bandwidth which could cause the photo not to show at all. So please, use one of the many free image hosting sources available to host your photos.

Looking for a past entry? or a certain photo? All photographs posted in this community can be found in our easily searchable memories section.

"Future generations may dismiss the Second World War as 'just another war.'
Those who experienced it know that it was a war justified in its aims and successful in accomplishing them. Despite all the killing and destruction that accompanied it, the Second World War was a good war."
- A.J.P Taylor, The Second World War
